Sri Manakula Vinayaga Educational Trust was formed with the avowed objective of imparting quality medical and technical education, especially to the rural sections of the society. SMVET was established in the year 1998 under the chairmanship of our beloved founder and has been progressing in his vision under the guidance of Shri. M. Dhanasekaran, Founder, Chairman and Managing Director, Dr. K. Narayanasamy, Secretary, Shri. D. Rajarajan Dhanasekaran B.E(UK) Treasurer and Shri. Ar. S Velayudham, Joint Secretary—the Trust has been a beacon of educational excellence.. To cherish this objective and to join hands with the policy of the Government of India, enhancing medical and technical education to meet the needs of our nation by ensuring the employability of the students, the trust established “Mailam Engineering College” in the year 1998 and “Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College” in 1999. By recognizing the role of teachers in nation building and considering the teaching profession as noble one, the trust has also established “Venkateswara College of Education” in 2005. To provide world-class quality health care services to all the sections of society with emphasis on philanthropy and qualitative medical education, the trust has started “Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College and Hospital” in the year 2006. The trust has recognized the significance of nursing as a profession which can enrich the services of health care sector and started “Sri Manakula Vinayagar Nursing College” in the year 2007 for the people to attain and maintain an optimal healthy life. To meet the ever increasing needs for ultimate technologies which assist in a better tomorrow that would free people from the clutches of old world ideas, the trust has established “Manakula Vinayagar Institute of Technology” in the year 2008 to enhance the career opportunities for the aspiring youth in and around the vicinity. In the area of knowledge driven economy, “Sri Manakula Vinayagar Polytechnic College” was established by our trust in 2011 for carrying out the socio economic developments of the country by yielding professionally expertise in all fields.
